Wine cellars

In cellars covered with noble mold the „Tokaji” matures , the wine of kings, king of wines (vinum Regul, billiards Vinorum) said by XIV. Louis. On the region Tokaj two types of cellar spread out: dug and hole basement. The former was vaulted space with the same floor plan as house, it can be approached from the porch of the house. The hole cellar was not connected to the house, above the ground was a stone-gate structure with wood or steel doors. 80-85% of all the wine cellars are such as like. The most valuable type of basement during the centuries is basement maze by linking the hole cellars close to each other.  Visitors can often enjoy multi-storey underground wonder like that in many settlements.

You can also explore the wonders of underground treasures, visit the cellars and find the best wines for your taste! This program provides assistance to the TDM bus of wine, but you can order shuttle if you do not want to drive. Tourist Hotline: +36 70 388 88 70
